How the Lottery Works
Admission to Amy Biehl High School is determined by lottery, which chooses students randomly to fill any open spots. The first step is to fill out and submit the application form, where it is entered into a lottery system. Amy Biehl draws from the application pool until all spots are filled. If your application is drawn, we will contact you soon after to walk you through the next steps and the registration process.
New student applications for the upcoming year open in November. The lottery drawing takes place in February, and registration begins in April. Families can apply year-round to the Waitlist once the lottery application is closed. We admit transfer students based on that term’s availability. Lottery applications for the 2026-27 school year are due by February 22, 2026 at 11:59 midnight. All applicants, February 23rd and later, will be added to the waitlist of potential students in order of their submission.
