Parent Lead Team

There is something that every parent, grandparent, or guardian can do to benefit the students’ journey through high school. Please come to a PLT meetings the first Thursday of every month at 5:30pm to learn more.

The purpose of the PLT  is to:

  • Create and maintain close and mutually supportive relationships between parents, teachers and administrators.
  • Build the community of school families through social events open to all at no cost.
  • Raise funds for the school and teachers' classroom needs.

For the 2011-2012 school year, the PLT commitments are to:

  • Sponsor a significant guest lecturer event for the student body each semester.
  • Encourage parents, grandparents, etc. to participate in Literary Circles, Project Week, Math, Science, and Humanities Coaching, Front Office help, Sports Programs, Staff Appreciation Day, Fundraisers, and school clean-up days.
  • Provide a supporting presence for Freshman First Day, Family Night, Prom and other social events, the Martin Luther King Day events, Graduation, Open House, etc.
  • Provide seed money or a financial contribution for selected student initiatives.
  • Provide fundraising to meet financial commitments.

Each meeting includes:

  • School update and discussion with Mark Ogawa, Dean
  • A review of the PLT finances
  • A review and discussion of upcoming events and PLT commitments
