ABHS Sweeps ASU’s ALMA Journalism Workshop

Martin Hoehne-Sanchez and Paola Villalba chaperoned ten Amy Biehl sophomores, juniors and seniors at a journalism conference on March 3rd. This is ABHS’s second appearance and the Lions earned top honors winning 3 of the 6 event prizes.

About the workshop:
ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism is the setting for the Arizona Latino Media Association’s outreach event. 50-60 students (mostly from the Phoenix area) participated in the all-day workshop featuring prestigious journalists from news stations and newspapers from all over Arizona and even South America. The main theme focused on adopting social media for news coverage; sessions included practice coverage for facebook, twitter, snapchat, and instagram. Justin Goff and Kasandr​​a Escarcega broadcasted live on facebook!
