Are you a professional educator who longs to be treated and respected as a professional? Do you envision working in a school where students are seen for their assets and growth potential, colleagues collaborate in a highly supportive and effective manner, and school administrators trust and empower teachers and students alike? If so, Amy Biehl High School, a highly innovative charter school that prepares all students for college and post secondary service and life, has an opening for a full time Special Education Instructor to support the math and science departments. We offer a unique work environment with a positive staff culture anchored by five weeks a year without students to plan, collaborate and learn with colleagues. We are seeking a Special Education Teacher with a Mathematics endorsement or math teaching experience, to teach small group classes and to support inclusion classes. We are looking for an educator that thrives in our collaborative, community based setting, and believes all students can achieve. A New Mexico Special Education license is required – an endorsement in math and/or science, or a comfort level with these subjects, is important.
- Teach small group and inclusion classes in Mathematics and Science
- Collaborate with the Math and Science teams regarding accommodations, differentiation and specific student needs
- Manage a student caseload through advisory class
- Write and facilitate the IEPs of the students on your caseload
